Fire Safety

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board hears appeals from decisions of the Fire Marshall's Office under the Fire Safety Act. These adjudicative functions were assigned to the Board in 2004.

The Fire Safety Act, together with the Fuel Safety Regulations and the Fire Safety Regulations under that Act, can be accessed through the "Statutes" and "Rules and Regulations" buttons located on the top of the screen.

Following the hearing, the Board is required to issue a written decision giving reasons for its disposition of the appeal. A copy of the decision will be sent to each party. Past decisions of the Board can be accessed through the "Decisions" button located on the top of this screen.
