Railways

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board's functions include the licensing of short line railways within the Province, as well as approving the discontinuance of service and the abandonment of rail lines. The Board's jurisdiction to hear such applications is derived from the Railways Act and the Railway Discontinuance of Services and Abandonment Regulations, which can be accessed through the "Statutes" and "Rules and Regulations" buttons located on the top of the screen.
